Breaking the Silence: Ending the Stigma of Domestic Violence that Prevents College Students from Seeking Help

This event focuses on equipping university professionals and community providers with knowledge to support student survivors of domestic violence. It runs from 10 AM to 3 PM at Monmouth University's Student Center on Wednesday, April 30.

Attendees will participate in multiple educational sessions:

  • Foundational Knowledge: Understanding the issue and its prevalence.
  • Title IX & Clery Act: Legal frameworks surrounding domestic violence.
  • Mental Health Professional Training: Tailored strategies for mental health providers.

The program is co-hosted by Monmouth University's Counseling and Prevention Services and 180 Turning Lives Around, a community organization dedicated to domestic violence prevention. Experts from Monmouth University specializing in Title IX and related areas will be leading sessions.

Participants can register for free and earn up to 4 continuing education credit hours.
