Prevent Suicide New Jersey proudly presents the Stanley-Brown Safety Planning Intervention (SPI) Training, an evidence-based workshop designed for licensed clinicians, school-based behavioral health providers, and mental health professionals. This interactive event will provide participants with essential techniques to address self-harm and suicidal behaviors effectively in both adults and adolescents.
Workshop Breakdown:
Part 1 (9 AM - 2 PM):
- Introduction to the Stanley-Brown SPI
- Identifying suitable recipients of the intervention
- Research and data on SPI effectiveness
- Comprehensive training with role-play for delivering SPI to suicidal adults
Part 2 (2 PM - 3 PM):
- Adapting SPI for adolescents experiencing suicidal ideation
- Role-play demonstration with caregiver involvement
Attendance Note: Completion of Part 1 is a prerequisite for attending Part 2.
This training is generously funded by the New Jersey Department of Health through the SAMHSA Garrett Lee Smith State/Tribal Youth Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention Grant Program (GLS).
