The Therapeutic Recreation Division provides access to recreation opportunites for Monmouth County residents with disabilities to enhance physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning as well as a sense of belonging.

Students from the age of four throughout adulthood come to SPUR to enjoy the many benefits of therapeutic horsemanship. Instructors and students work together in SPUR lessons to attain desired physical, cognitive, and/or emotional goals via a variety of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT).

Monmouth Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, is one of the largest academic medical centers in the entire state of New Jersey. For more than 40 years, our facility has been a teaching affiliate of Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. 

Services include crisis intervention, inpatient care, short-term care, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and traditional outpatient care.

Crisis Prevention for Children & Adults. Monmouth Medical Center's Community Prevention Program is a service designed to reach clients in the community who may otherwise have barriers to treatment.  Our hope is to reduce the hurdles one might face and make mental health treatment accessible to everyone.
