In this changing world, working with children and adolescents requires specialized knowledge, however, it also requires warmth, empathy, optimism, and a connection with your clients. I am committed to providing this level of treatment. The insight I've gained through my work as an in-home therapist and a School Social Worker, as well as experiences in an out-patient hospital setting, a substance abuse clinic, and an alternative school for students with behavioral disorders has been invaluable to understanding today's struggles. With my experience and the trust we build together, I believe you will aquire the skills needed to become stronger and happier.
My primary practice modality is Cognitive-Behavioral while utilizing a Strengths-Based approach, however, I adapt to individuals' unique personalities and needs. With children, I utilize a hands-on approach with art, games, and role play, striving to create a safe, comfortable atmosphere that will foster social and emotional growth.
Enthusiastic and eager to acquire new knowledge in clinical leadership, I begin pursuit of my doctoral degree at Rutgers University's Doctorate in Clinical Social Work (DSW) program this fall. Through innovative evidenced-based methods, I look forward to conveying my passion for counseling with you and helping you implement strategies to overcome your conflicts.
