Arms in Action Summer Camp

Dates: August 5-23, 2024

Times: Monday-Friday for 3 hours in the morning

Class ratio:  1 licensed PT or OT per 3 children

Deadline to register is April 15, 2024.

Arms in Action is an intensive summer therapy camp for children with hemiplegia ages 4 to 10 years old. The camp, led by occupational and physical therapists, will use principles of modified constraint-induced movement therapy, bimanual intensive training, and caregiver education in a playful, engaging and fun group setting.

Arms in Action incorporates each camper and their family's unique functional goals into the daily camp schedule. Children will participate in activities using their weaker arm, as well as bimanual activities that will promote the functional use of their upper extremities to meet family goals.  Children will engage in self-care activities and prepare snacks every day. Each camper will be met at their level to build on success and skill. Throughout the camp, caregiver training sessions will be provided to introduce and go over the fundamentals of hemiplegia, address parent concerns and provide home carry over activities.
